With an abundance of excellent security products available for consumers, this review of some of the leading American Security safes, along with the features they offer to buyers, should help steer you in the right direction.
The Amsec Rifle/Gun Safe comes high on the list. This safe is made of solid steel (12-gauge) with a door of 3/16″ of steel plating. In addition, the body is insulated for fire, or more specifically this American Security gun safe is able to withstand a fire of up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit for half an hour and remain unharmed. The door comes with a seal that expands with heat, sealing the inside off from flames. This Rifle/Gun safe is a little more on the high end as far as price goes, but the specially modified fire-retarded features justify it.
LP5924W American Security Gun Safe is expensive but classy. The interior is lined with American Oak and excellently stylized pinstripes. Outfitted with a three wheel combination lock and weighing almost 500 lbs, this American Security Safe makes a serious statement about protection of guns and other valuables. The steel door is equipped with five chrome rods that lock in place to offer extra protection. Each rod is 1 1/4″ across so incredibly robust.
The Compact Amsec safe is a more affordable option for customers looking for security with limited space on hand. The compact safe offers 8″ x 15-3/4″ x 10-5/8″ of room and locks with a DL4000 digital lock, and there is also an override manual key in case of emergency. This safe weighs 25 lbs and can be secured to either the floor or a wall. It is made of quality steel and the locking mechanism is forged of heavy duty gauged steel. The Compact is small and secure, with a relatively low price tag.
At the other end of the spectrum is the enormous RF6528, the final word in American Security gun safes.
This safe offers an interior of 29″ x 35″ x 72″ inches, and can withstand fires with temperatures reaching 1,850 degrees Fahrenheit for two hours, a record in the industry. The door swings open with a 5-pointed handle which controls the ten 1 1/2″ chrome-plated steel blocks that lock it in place.
This safe is practically impregnable. Its anti-tamper features include a plate which will shatter any drill used to attempt entry, spring-loaded relocking devices, and a dial that requires a key to lock. The door is a special treat: the steel plates are 2 3/4″ thick on the interior and exterior sides and the middle is filled with an original burglar-deterrent material with an ARMOR steel plate to top it all off. Truly a serious safe for a serious customer. It is the only burglar-proof and fire-resistant safe to be U.L Listed TL-30, the pinnacle in security. Bear in mind though, it also weighs more than 3,400 lbs.
In the American Security style of being prepared against both prying fingers and prying flames, the model BF7250 is a paragon of security and also a temple of professional style as well. The outside is heat resistant up to 1,275 degrees Fahrenheit (for an hour and a half) and the walls are made of steel and lined with DryLight insulation to prevent fire and heat damage. The inside has a mirrored rear wall to aid in visibility, classy pin-dot fabric, and moveable shelves to adjust for the customer’s needs. As a bonus, this safe also offers the E-Z slant-out interior so weapons can be accessed quickly. This model can hold up to 47 guns, and weighs 1,738 lbs. While not exactly on par (as far as price goes) with the behemoth RF6528, these American Security safes are still in the upper atmosphere of cost.
In an industry where size and complexity are the currency of the realm, the smaller safes are often overlooked. The American Security Products Handgun Security Safe is one of these. Weighing less than 10 lbs, the PB2 is stylishly matted in blue with Western-style decoration. The inside is lined with cushioned foam to prevent damage to the handgun(s) inside. It features a chrome locking bolt, and the digital, battery-powered lock rejects attempts after a certain amount of failures, so intruders are deterred from attempting a break-in. The 9-volt battery that powers the lock is good for 5,000 openings and also warns the owner when power is low. The combination to this safe can be changed by way of an override code, which of course must be kept secure. The PB2 has an interior capacity of 12″ x 8″ x 4″, and allows for versatility and easy access. Of course, it is one of the very most affordable American Security gun safes to own.
These are some of the finest Amsec safes available on the market and each serves its own purpose and customers’ needs.
