Not Your Mother’s Gun Safe

So you come running into your home, only to find that he beat you there.

You look at him. He looks at you.

“How did you know?” you ask. “Because you’re rich.” He answers. Of course he knew. You should’ve put your safe somewhere other than the desk drawer in your million-dollar study.  All rich people do that. But not all rich people have a biometric gun safe.

And apparently this super-savvy, “I know everything about rich people” thief doesn’t know that you have one. “You won’t be able to get in.” you tell him. “And why not?” he asks smugly. “Because it’s biometric.” “I don’t know what that means.” (Maybe he’s not that savvy) “I know you don’t. Just know that you won’t be able to get in.”

And with that, you stroll across the room to the telephone. He frantically plants his hand on the monitor on the safe. You pick up the telephone and dial 9-1-1.  He tries again. You smile at him. Now he’s slapping his hand like a dead fish on the monitor, trying to make it read. “Hello, yes. I’d like to report a break-in.” you say with a smile. His face goes white. He looks at you, back at the safe, back at you, and then runs and jumps out the study window.

Thank goodness your safe was biometric.

Okay, chances are you won’t really have an enemy who’s trying to hack into your safe, but on the off-chance that you did, he wouldn’t be able to get in. Why? Because your safe is biometric. That just means that it won’t open without your fingerprint. Yes, they actually have safes that do that. It’s cool, I know.

So what are the advantages of having a biometric safe?

  1. I’m just going to say it. It’s way cooler than regular safes. Admit it. Say ‘biometric gun safe’. Sounds cool, right? Now say ‘gun safe’.  Not so exciting that time, was it?
  2. It’s much quicker access. Most people will use this safe as a gun safe, and that makes sense. If someone is in your home, you’ll need to be able to get to your guns quickly. Rather than having to put in a code, or fumble around looking for a key that you can hardly get in the key hole because your hands are shaking so violently, you just slap your hand on the monitor and it’ll open right up. Voila.
  3. There’s an extra measure of security. A code is a relatively easy piece of information to obtain, and a key is even easier. With a biometric safe, you’re the only one who can get in. You won’t have to worry about other people getting any information as long as you’ve still got both of your hands.

Another awesome thing about safes is that they come in all different sizes now. You want a safe for valuables and documents? Great, there’s one for that. You want a safe for a pistol? There’s also one for that. But what about your shotgun? Calm down, calm down. There’s one for that.

So why waste time and money on a safe when you can just get one that will open right up for you and only you? That’s right. Get a biometric safe (and say it again. It never gets old).
